Pathways’ Bible Challenge!

This past Sunday I challenged our church community to read through the entire Bible in one year, beginning July 1st. I was pleasantly surprised at the response, but it got me thinking that we ought to invite other pilgrims from outside our faith community to join us in the adventure.

In reality, this is going to be pretty easy to do. You can read the whole Bible by devoting just 15 minutes a day for the next 365 days (unless you’re a painfully slow reader). Even the more repetitive portions of Leviticus and Numbers can be digested in 15 minute bites! And since most Christians have NEVER read the entire Bible, easy is good!

A bunch of folks reading the Bible in a a year is a good thing. A bunch of folks doing it together is a very good thing. I can’t wait to see how God uses this adventure to form His community. We’ll be posting the readings on our church website (www.pathwaysweb.com), and hopefully begin a challenging discussion about God’s Word in dialogue with our world. Want to join in?

One Response to “Pathways’ Bible Challenge!”

  1. I’ve really enjoyed this so far. Beyond the connection with God (which is reason enough to enjoy it), it has enabled us to stay spiritually connected to the community, even from NC.
